Cruisers are equipped with Mobile Data Laptop computers that allow the officers to query a wide variety of information from the front seat of the cruiser.
Some information availbale to the officers via the laptops are:
NCIC wanted status;
Warrants outstanding;
License status;
Registration status;
Missing person status;
Restraining orders;
Stolen plate, and or article;
Hazardous Material Database for potential hazards at accident scenes.
These laptops are invaluable law enforcement tools and were purchased and maintained by Community Policing grant money from the Executive Office of Public Safety.
