On 1/19/2005, two white males approached a home on North Franklin Street posing as employees of an electric company or water department.
The males were able to convince the residents to let them into the home. One male was "checking" the water, and the second male was "checking" the electrical service.
One was described as an older white male with gray hair and a mustache. The second male was a younger white male, approximately 5'8" with a thin build. They wore navy blue jackets, and drove a black van, unknown make or model, that was approximately 4 or 5 years old.
It appears that this was a fraud. The males do not appear to have been from any legitimate company or agency.
Residents are asked to be aware of this type of behavior, and if something similar occurs, please call the Police Department to have an officer dispatched to verify the identity of the subject. If there is any doubt as to the legitimacy of the subject, do not allow entry, and call the Police Department.
